Grief drove her to the edge of the world. Time carried her somewhere else entirely.
After losing her daughter, Maggie escapes to the Scottish countryside, seeking solitude in the shadow of ancient Dunadd Fort. But when she stops taking the medication that has long controlled her seizures—and dulled her emotions—she begins slipping into another time.
Suddenly, the ruined fort stands whole. The past is alive. And Maggie is no longer alone.
In the court of Queen Brighde, Maggie is taken in by Fergus, a grieving prince whose gentleness and strength stir feelings she thought were gone forever. As Maggie finds herself falling for Fergus—and for the life she’s discovered in this distant century—she must face an impossible truth:
Her time there is running out.
With a life-altering surgery waiting in the present, Maggie must choose between the world she knows and the one that feels like home.
A sweeping story of love, loss, and second chances across time.
