This is the true story of an orphaned deer rescued by a woman dealing with her own childhood trauma.
Anna and her husband Pino fulfill their lifelong dream of escaping the city life of New York by moving to the country and buying a farm in Tewksbury, New Jersey. But the simple compassionate act of rescuing an abandoned deer soon accelerates the changes and the course of their lives. And then it touches those around them just as the events of 9/11 unfold and throw many in their rural community into deep, personal tragedy.
The young deer, Blossom, grows and thrives with Anna’s care. Anna discovers a deep level of intelligence and intuition in the deer that defies the traditionally held beliefs of the divide between man and nature. But not everyone in this conservative town is accepting of the idea of taming a wild animal and that creates challenges for Anna in keeping the innocent doe alive. Just as Blossom gains fame and notoriety, the stakes are raised when a hunting stand is placed on a neighboring farm. Will this ambassador from the wild teach peace and unconditional love to the chilled and hardened hearts in this post 9/11 American town?
